What is Early Childhood Education?
The Western & Scioto Valley Early Childhood Education Schools are funded by the Ohio Department of Education. These programs are for children ages 3 & 4 whose family income is at or below 185% of the poverty guidelines (see Poverty Guidelines). There is a monthly fee involved depending on your income that can range anywhere from $40.00 to $80.00 per month. Funded enrollment for Western is 14 children. The funded enrollment for Scioto Valley is 16 children. Children receive developmental assessments, speech, hearing and vision screenings by trained staff. Services are available for children with special needs. Children are involved in nutritional, educational and socialization experiences. We offer a 7 hour session Monday through Thursday. Children are served breakfast, lunch, and a snack. Transportation may be provided in most areas of the county. For an application for Early Childhood Education, just click on Enrollment Application.
